The SENSEI RX is Rinnai’s flagship condensing tankless water heater and the most efficient model in their residential lineup at up to 0.98 UEF – the highest efficiency available in its class. Every SENSEI RX model can be installed indoors or outdoors and supports both natural gas and liquid propane, so a single model covers virtually any installation scenario without substitution. Bluetooth setup allows installing technicians to connect via smartphone for quick configuration without needing a Wi-Fi connection during commissioning. Rinnai Central app integration provides ongoing remote monitoring and smart home control.
Available in 160,000 and 199,000 BTU/H input sizes. 15-year limited heat exchanger warranty, 5-year parts warranty (extendable to 5-year labor with registration within 90 days).
Rinnai RU Series – Condensing Tankless Water Heater
The RU Series is Rinnai’s established super high efficiency condensing line, with a proven track record in residential and commercial installations. Operating at up to 0.96 UEF, the RU Series delivers excellent efficiency at a lower price point than the flagship SENSEI RX. Available in four input sizes from 130,000 to 199,000 BTU/H. Indoor installation. Circ-Logic recirculation technology supports connection of an external recirculation pump to reduce wait times at fixtures.
A dependable choice for homes where a high-efficiency condensing unit is the goal and the Bluetooth setup capabilities of the SENSEI RX are not a priority. 15-year limited heat exchanger warranty, 5-year parts warranty.
Rinnai RE Series – Non-Condensing Tankless Water Heater
The RE Series is Rinnai’s current non-condensing tankless line, assembled in Griffin, Georgia. It replaces the previous RL and V Series models and has been redesigned for easier installation, serviceability, and usability. Available in 140,000, 160,000, 180,000, and 199,000 BTU/H input sizes. The RE Series is a solid choice for homes where a high-efficiency non-condensing unit is preferred or where condensing installation requirements (drain line for condensate) are not practical.

Does Rinnai offer a condensing boiler for home heating?
Rinnai does manufacture the I-SERIES Plus condensing boiler line. However, certain models of the I-SERIES Plus are currently subject to a voluntary CPSC safety recall issued June 5, 2025, due to a carbon monoxide hazard. Do you dispose of my old water heater?
Yes. When we replace your water heater, we remove and properly dispose of the old unit, with the majority of components sent for recycling.
